I will give you insight from my personal experience as someone who took this tour, but I’m not from the company that does the tours. On our tour, there were about 20-25 people. I think they offer tours every day. I don’t know if it’s like a Pat Liddy tour, but this particular walking tour came highly recommended.

Do you actually go into trinity collage, Christ church etc or do you just walk around?

You go into the yards of Trinity College, Christchurch and Dublin Castle. You will get plenty of information about the history at all three places.

Not at all. The tour guide stands at the entrance to the College for about 15-20 mins before starting the tour. You can walk up and pay cash.
