Auburn University gave fans an announcement they were likely unhappy to see on Friday, when the school notified season ticket holders that they could expect a raise in prices for next season, according to the Associated Press (via ESPN).

While many major universities are finding their offsets through sponsorships that are throwing company brandings onto college facilities for the first time, others are now looking toward their fans to boost their revenue streams.

Auburn athletic director John Cohen is warning fans that the school could raise ticket prices in preparation for a revenue-sharing model in college athletics under the pending $2.8 billion settlement with the NCAA and the nation's biggest conferences.
