(Reuters) -Indian telecom carrier Bharti Airtel has made an early payment of 36.26 billion rupees ($426.4 million) to the Indian government, the company said on Thursday, settling all its liabilities for the spectrum acquired in 2016.

Bharti Airtel has made prepayment of Rs 3,626 crore to the Department of Telecom, clearing its liabilities for spectrum it had acquired in 2016 auction. Airtel has prepaid a total of Rs 28,320 crore of spectrum liabilities in this calendar year.

Bharti Airtel has made an early payment of 36.26 billion rupees ($426.4 million) to the Indian government, clearing its outstanding spectrum fees from a 2016 auction, the telecom carrier said on Thursday.

Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has made a pre-payment of Rs 3,626 crore to the government for the spectrum it purchased in 2016. This payment is part of Airtel’s efforts to clear its spectrum dues with high interest costs.
