Perhaps the Broncos had a champagne party in their heads a bit too soon. Denver scored three touchdowns in their first three drives Thursday against the Chargers, who owned the league’s No. 9 defense in terms of DVOA (Defense-adjusted value over average) entering the game.

“Everybody in that locker room, every guy wants to already play next week at this point,” Nix said. “We’re all competitively frustrated, and I think we’re excited for this opportunity. We know this next one’s the most important, and we just want to go out next week and not feel this way again.”
