Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka did not enter a plea and will likely be scheduled for a July trial on the trespassing charge.

Ras Baraka, the mayor of Newark and a candidate for New Jersey governor, appeared in federal court on Thursday, nearly a week after he was charged with trespassing.

Badar Kahn Suri, who has been held in Texas since March, is expected to return to Virginia after a federal judge found he raised substantial First and Fifth amendment claims.
