Snow piled up across Minnesota as the biggest storm of the winter season so far dragged across the state on Thursday.

Parts of Minnesota received more than a half-foot of snow from Thursday’s winter storm. For much of the state, it was the largest snowfall of the winter so far.

UNDATED ( WJON News) -- A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for much of Minnesota on Thursday. The warning has been issued until midnight on Thursday. The National Weather Service says heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 7 inches.

MINNEAPOLIS — A winter storm warning is in effect Thursday as the biggest snowstorm yet this season hits Minnesota. WCCO has issued a NEXT Weather Alert due to impacts from the snowstorm. The Twin Cities can expect around 4 inches of accumulation, with many in the I-94 corridor in the 4-6 inch range.
