Phil Mickelson will not play in LIV Golf’s first event of the season, which will be held under the lights in Saudi Arabia this week.

Phil Mickelson suffered a minor shoulder injury during a workout in the gym and will miss the LIV Golf season opener in Saudi Arabia this week. Mickelson, 54, made the announcement Monday on social media.

This adjustment in his plans brings Ollie Schniederjans in as his replacement. Schniederjans, who recently claimed victory on the Asian Tour—his first in nine years—has been selected to fill Mickelson's spot in the Saudi Arabia event.
