Tadej Pogacar is set to secure his fourth Tour de France title after maintaining his lead as Kaden Groves wins the penultimate stage of this year's race.

Australian Kaden Groves completed his set of grand tour stage wins when he prevailed on the Tour de France's penultimate ride, avoiding a crash on slippery roads before powering to a solo triumph on the 184.

The Australian sprinter avoided a late crash and broke free of his companions to solo to a maiden Tour de France victory

That's all from the penultimate stage of this year's Tour de France, which saw Australian debutant Kaden Groves claim an emotional victory in Pontarlier. Reigning champion Tadej Pogacar arrived at the finish safely with the peloton so the Slovenian superstar will seal a fourth Tour win tomorrow.

Kaden Groves won a rain-soaked stage 20 of the 2025 Tour de France on Saturday, attacking from the break with 17 kilometres remaining and soloing to victory in Pontarlier. It completes a Grand Tour trilogy for the Australian, who adds today’s stage win to seven in the Vuelta a Espana and two in the Giro d’Italia.

The Australian went solo with 16km left on the toughest summit of this year’s race, while Pogacar withstood an onslaught from Visma-Lease a Bike

Another day successfully completed, only one more to go. Tadej Pogacar is getting closer to his fourth Tour de France victory. However, he still has to navigate the ride to the Champs-Élysées, which is quite different from the traditional parade through Paris.
