Eleven people were injured in a “random” stabbing by a man with a folding knife-style weapon at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, Saturday, according to the Grand Traverse County sheriff.

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) — Eleven people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday — with six in critical condition — in what a Michigan sheriff said appeared to be a random act. A suspect was in custody, authorities said.

The Munson Medical Center, a 9-minute drive from the Walmart, confirmed that they are working closely with local authorities and emergency services to ensure the best care for those impacted.
