President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday directing the United States to again withdraw from the landmark Paris climate agreement, dealing a blow to worldwide efforts to combat global warming and once again distancing the U.

In a Day 1 executive order, President Donald Trump withdrew from the landmark climate accord. Additional orders on energy are expected.

The president withdrew the country from the Paris climate agreement, and promised he would be pardoning people prosecuted over the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the Capitol.
