ESPN has officially released their way-too-early Top 25 for the 2026 season following the conclusion of the national championship game. Per ESPN's Mark Schlabach, the Crimson Tide are currently ranked as the No. 21 team in the country looking ahead to next season.

Alabama football's 2026 roster is still coming together. But the Crimson Tide does have a clearer picture of who will take the field Saturday, Sept. 5 against East Carolina.

On Sunday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide landed a commitment from 2026 wide receiver Maurice Mathis Jr.. Mathis is a former commit to Samford, whom he had previously been committed to since July 2025.

Cederian Morgan is no longer the only wide receiver in Alabama football's 2026 recruiting class. Maurice Mathis Jr., a wide receiver out of Warner Robins, Georgia, confirmed his commitment to the Crimson Tide in the 2026 recruiting class. According to multiple reports, Mathis has signed and will enroll early at Alabama.
