An Oscar for “A Real Pain” wasn’t Jesse Eisenberg’s only win this week — he also received citizenship in Poland, where he filmed the movie about reckoning with one’s family’s Holocaust history. Polish president Andrzej Duda handed citizenship to Eisenberg at a ceremony in New York on Tuesday.

Actor, writer, director Jesse Eisenberg is now officially a Polish citizen, Variety reported. The Now You See Me star was granted citizenship by Polish President Andrzej Duda in a New York ceremony on Tuesday.

In the film, which Eisenberg wrote and starred in, two American Jewish cousins travel to Poland to honour their grandmother, who survived the Holocaust. The grandmother is based on Eisenberg's own great aunt Doris,
