Most of lower Michigan will see snow accumulation from winter storms Saturday into Sunday. Here's the expected totals near you.

A Winter Weather Advisory sparked by the incoming snow system on Saturday has been issued for a large swath of counties across Mid-Michigan and Northern Michigan. The advisory cautions of worsening driving conditions on Saturday. It runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Today will be quiet, but don't get used to it. Snow arrives tomorrow, with 1-3 inches forecasted across Southeast Michigan.

Freezing rain has made for a messy morning commute and prompted dozens of school districts to close for the day. But the rain is expected to lighten as the day progresses, meteorologists with the National Weather Service said Thursday.
