Obama applauds Newsom's California redistricting plan as 'responsible' as Texas GOP pushes new maps
Former President Barack Obama has expressed support for California Governor Gavin Newsom's approach to redistricting.
The Republican said in part in a statement: “My colleagues in the majority are undermining the principles of representative democracy and the clear will of California voters, who do not want elected politicians to draw the lines in this state.
