FALL RIVER — The nine residents killed in a fire here at Gabriel House, an assisted living residence, are being remembered as fonts of knowledge and symbols of longevity.

The fire that claimed nine lives at an assisted-living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, "was destined to kill 50-plus people," according to the local fire chief.

A house fire in Bay County could possibly linked to a domestic violence-related incident according to the Bay County Sheriff's Office.

Harner’s girlfriend said she fell asleep around 9 p.m. Saturday while watching TV in the couple’s ranch home on the 6200 block of Locust Street. She awoke to the sound of a smoke detector. She searched the home and saw flickering flames coming from the basement, where Harner was, court documents said.
