New Jersey mayors say they’re receiving mixed messages about drones and the Federal Aviation Administration’s decision to ban drone flights in 22 municipalities with critical infrastructure temporarily.

Residents of both states have been growing increasingly alarmed over the past month by unexplained bright lights in the nighttime skies and frustrated by a lack of answers.

The Federal Aviation Administration said on Thursday it was temporarily barring drone flights over dozens of critical infrastructure sites in New Jersey and New York.
