NJ Transit rail engineers are on strike Friday, shutting down train service for more than 100,000 daily riders across the state.New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy gave an update on the negotiations Friday morning,

Hotel bookings jumped 10%, highways became parking lots, and subway cars overflowed when New Jersey experienced its first statewide rail strike.

Gov. Philip D. Murphy said the transit agency was eager to reach a deal with engineers whose walkout has caused disruptions for tens of thousands in the New York area. The union said NJ Transit walked away from talks.
