Former Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte is now in the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Netherlands following his dramatic arrest in Manila the day before over a brutal, years-long anti-drugs crackdown that left thousands of his citizens dead.

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — A plane carrying arrested former Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte left Manila Tuesday night for him to be turned over to the International Criminal Court in The Hague which has ordered his arrest for alleged crimes against humanity, President Ferdinand Marcos said.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Former Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte was turned over Wednesday to the custody of the International Criminal Court, following his arrest on a warrant accusing him of crimes against humanity over deadly anti-drugs crackdowns he oversaw while in office.
