In the seventh inning of Wednesday night's showdown between the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates, a raccoon was seen out in the center field bleachers.
A raccoon was spotted wandering around the stands at Citi Field on Wednesday night as the Mets fell 4-0 to the Pirates, amusing SNY play-by-play man Gary Cohen and terrifying analyst Ron Darling and some unsuspecting spectators who got a surprise in their seats.
After Sterling Marte led off the ninth with a single to left, Santana induced Torrens to pop out to Gorski, then got Brett Baty and Luisangel Acuna to fly out Bae. The Pirates extended their lead to 4-0 on Jared Triolo’s two-run homer to left in the top of the fifth.
The start of Wednesday night's game between the Mets and Pirates at Citi Field will be delayed due to inclement weather in the area.
The Mets won yesterday’s matchup, 2-1, off a Brett Baty homer in the 7th inning. New York won both meetings with Pittsburgh by one run (4-3 and 2-1). The Pirates are 2-3 in the last five games, but 2-10 over the previous 12 compared to the 3-0 run the Mets are on and 5-1 in the past six games.
