Celtics guard Jrue Holiday on Sunday missed his second consecutive game due to an injury to his right pinky, and the timeline for his return remains unclear. Holiday said he suffered the “mallet finger” injury—caused by damage to the tendon that straightens the finger—when he jammed it while going for a rebound.
After missing the Celtics last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jrue Holiday seems to have a finger injury.
“I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t really hear of the term mallet finger until people were telling me I had mallet finger,” Holiday said before the Celtics hosted the Denver Nuggetts at TD Garden. “They just told me that I broke my finger.”
Holiday (finger) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports. As expected, Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) have both been downgraded from doubtful to out,
The Boston Celtics will look to get back to winning ways on Friday as they prepare to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers, the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
