On Saturday, the San Antonio Spurs traveled to southern California for the first of two games against the Los Angeles Lakers. The game was ultimately postponed by the NBA due to concerns about the event making managing the wildfires that are ravaging the area harder to fight.

After having five full days off due to the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, the Lakers seemed to sink themselves into quicksand against the Spurs.

After going 0-2 against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Frost Bank Center, the San Antonio Spurs won their first road game of the season against the Purple and Gold, 126-102. The Spurs entered the final frame with the game tied and toppled the Lakers thanks to a huge fourth quarter from key players.

After splitting two games against the Denver Nuggets (one at home, one on the road), the San Antonio Spurs will hop on several flights and play the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers twice, all without coming back to San Antonio.

After the Lakers and Clippers had games postponed due to Los Angeles-area wildfires, they are expected to resume play Monday.
