Devon Toews scored 4:23 into overtime, and the Colorado Avalanche began a five-game homestand with a win over the New York Rangers.
The Rangers were just a minute away from winning their third straight game, but the Avs tied it with 1:13 left, then won it late in overtime.
Toews took a pass from Nathan MacKinnon and one-timed a shot ... and Avalanche goalie Mackenzie Blackwood stopped Mika Zibanejad on a breakaway. Parker Kelly scored in the first period for Colorado.

The Rangers are starting to pick up points consistently again, building up their confidence and moving slowly up the standings.
