The co-founder of British climate activist group Just Stop Oil had his sentence reduced for organizing a blockade of a major highway around London, a judge ruled Friday.

Cressie Gethin, Roger Hallam, Lou Lancaster, Daniel Shaw and Lucia Whittaker De Abreu were convicted for plotting action that caused major disruption to traffic, with protesters climbing onto gantries over the M25 motorway for four successive days in November 2022.

Last year, 16 activists were sentenced for their involvement in four demonstrations led by JSO between August and November 2022.
