Toronto forward Max Pacioretty has been ruled out for the Maple Leafs' game Monday night against the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning because of an upper-body injury.
Toronto Maple Leafs left wing Max Pacioretty (upper body) was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. The move is retroactive to Jan. 18, meaning Pacioretty will not be eligible to return to the lineup until next week.
The 20-year-old centered the Maple Leafs' third line with Max Domi and Nick Robertson on his wings. Minten was recalled from the Marlies on Thursday after John Tavares went down with an injury at practice. Before Toronto's morning skate got underway, a few of the team's injured players were seen on the ice.
To fill the veteran winger’s roster spot, the Leafs called up 22-year-old forward Jacob Quillan from the Marlies, who has 15 points in 35 games. Pacioretty missed Monday’s game against Tampa Bay and was not going to play against the Blue Jackets, head coach Craig Berube said on Monday.

The left-shot winger was struck in the head by a puck Saturday against the Canadiens, but he was able to finish that contest. Pacioretty's next chance to return to the lineup will come in Ottawa on Saturday.
