The dryer and windy conditions have triggered a “Red Flag” fire warning for all of Central Florida. Residents are encouraged to keep vehicles off of the dry grasses and avoid any activities that include open flames or sparks. Overnight lows will fall into the 40s in almost every community.

As Houstonians woke up to heavy rain early Tuesday, weather officials warned of an increased risk for wildfire growth later in the day. The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for the Houston area from 10 a.

A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for Palm Beach County and a Red Flag Warning is in effect for Okeechobee and Treasure Coast counties from 11 a.m. until Thursday evening. Wildfires could easily start and be hard to control due to drought conditions, low humidity, and gusty winds.
