Beyond that, all I know is it’s a delightfully catchy genre of music, and director Maggie Kang and Chris Applegate make it a fine setting for their animated feature “.” Thankfully, no one needs to be a K-pop expert to appreciate the film (although I suspect those better versed in its culture will find more to enjoy here),
If it weren’t for the fans, boy band BTS couldn’t possibly have filled SoFi Stadium four times over, and Blackpink would never have been invited to headline Coachella — nor would there be any reason to greenlight a movie like “K-Pop Demon Hunters.”
I’ll be honest, I jumped into watching KPop Demon Hunters knowing absolutely nothing. I don’t follow K-pop, I hadn’t seen a trailer, and I only hit play because my daughter wanted to watch it with me.
