Netflix just canceled "The Recruit" in a stunning move. Cast member Colton Dunn broke the news on Threads revealing that the spy show was canceled despite a stellar season 2. "You can’t cancel the memories," the Lester Kitchens actor declared while sharing some behind-the-scenes photos from the show's two-season run.

Even great viewership numbers and positive reviews from critics and viewers can't save you from the Netflix chopping block.

"We can't have nothing, man. Always canceling stuff. And it's Netflix's fault for releasing at the same time as S2 of The Night Agent, which wasn't as good as S2 of The Recruit," said one viewer.

Unlike The Night Agent ’s second season, The Recruit has underperformed – and fans of the cancelled show are now complaining that The Night Agent stole The Recruit ’s limelight. They’re blaming the streamers’ scheduling decision for “unfairly” putting the writing on the wall for the show.

The Recruit, which premiered in December 2022, spent five weeks on the Netflix TV Global Top 10 (English), reaching the Top 10 in 88 countries. Along with Dunn and Centineo, the series starred Fivel Stewart, Laura Haddock, Kaylah Zander, Maddie Hasson, Teo Yoo, and Aarti Mann.

The Recruit and The Night Agent remain available to stream on Netflix and fans can watch both their favourite spy thriller for now.
