'I was so fortunate': NC pilot describes moment plane crashed in ocean at Oak Island
WECT reports a small airplane crashed in the ocean near the Oak Island Pier at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The pilot, Mark Finkelstein from Southport, was the only person on board. Finkelstein was treated on shore for non-life-threatening injuries, and the plane was recovered and towed out of the water.
