Second Chance Honey is a new beekeeping program at our Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center that started on April 23, 2020. This program is the first beekeeping program in a State of California correctional center and is designed to teach our female inmates how to get into the beekeeping world, either as a hobbyist or as a career. There are currently 8 female participants in the program. They learn about safety gear, how to use their tools, bee anatomy, how to conduct a hive inspection, bee diseases
