✨Ta da! ✨ This little showoff is a Furcula Moth caterpillar. The green and brown body is well camouflaged, resembling a weathered leaf. Furcula, meaning "little fork", refers to its forked tail, which extends from its hind end. When we spotted this caterpillar on the trails at the Museum of American Bird Art at Mass Audubon Education Center in Canton a few weeks ago, it split its tail as a defensive response.
