One of Connie’s all-time favorite male country singers is the great George Jones. In the early 60s, she went to see him at Frontier Ranch in Ohio, but after arriving, discovered he had performed the week before. It was then she was encouraged to enter the local talent show where she was discovered and invited to come to Nashville. The rest is history.
