On January 20, Ukraine honors the memory of the soldiers who heroically defended Donetsk airport in 2014-2015. This battle lasted 242 days and became one of the fiercest and most symbolic events of the Russia-Ukraine war. The airport was defended by people who were stronger than concrete. They became known as "cyborgs". At least 97 Ukrainian defenders were killed in the battles for Donetsk Airport, and three remain missing.
