This is not your everyday training and definitely not for the faint-hearted! Five specialist rappel dispatchers from the Ovens and Heyfield fire districts and Melbourne recently completed Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET). Attendees’ skills and knowledge were put to the test in a life-like simulation of a helicopter in-water landing, where they were required to safely exit the simulator when it was fully inverted.
